Supertoys: A User's Manual presents new ways for children to think about and playing with toys - part instruction manual and part gallery of mutant toys made by children. The work featured is thanks to school children from Headley Park Primary School in Bristol, and Raglan Junior School in London, as part of the overall Supertoys project. The book is produced by Kahve Society and London Borough of Enfield, and published in conjunction with the exhibition Supertoys at Arnolfini, Bristol UK.

SUPERTOYS (Arnolfini, 22 Nov 2008 - 18 Jan 2009) is an exhibition and related events exploring toys, affective machines and play. Artists, technologists, children and adults examine how toys operate 'transitionally' in allowing feelings to be carried between the human subject and external objects. The overall project is based on earlier work (2006-07) to make a toy by children for children using the Brian Aldiss story 'Supertoys Last All Summer Long' as a point of departure. The project was initially developed in collaboration with children from Headley Park Primary School.

The sound artist/composer John Drever has been commissioned to begin the process with some initial recordings.
