Walking East
Walking East (March 2007) is a walk around London's East End stopping at cafés for a rest. It is being created by artist Susanne Radmann and women from the Somali, Bangladeshi and English communities. Together they will reveal their ideas and thoughts on walking from their cultural and local perspectives. Members of the general public will be able to book places on the walks in Spring 2007. The walk will also be available in booklet or CD format in summer 2007.Walking East is a collaboration between Kahve Society, Chisenhale Art Place, Morpeth Secondary School and Globe Town Education Action Zone.
This project is part of the research and development stage of the proposed A Generative Grammar of the Legs a mobile conference on walking planned to take place in and between cafés in the east end of London.
